UNIDO cooperates with global partners. Together we actively address climate change and environmental protection.
Global Environment Facility (GEF)
As an independent financial organization, GEF provides grants to developing countries and countries with economies in transition for projects related to biodiversity, climate change, international waters, land degradation, the ozone layer, and persistent organic pollutants.
National Cleaner Production Centers (NCPCs)
National Cleaner Production Centers (NCPCs) are set up to help countries reduce the use of energy, water and other natural resources, while also reducing the generation of waste and emissions, in particular from small and medium-sized enterprises. This is a co-operation program with financial assistance from the Governments of Austria and Switzerland.
UN Energy
UN-Energy, was established in 2004, as an inter-agency mechanism composed of 20 UN system organizations, to promote coherence in the UN system’s multidisciplinary response to the energy-related decisions.
The Advisory Group on Energy and Climate Change (AGECC)
The AGECC Group advises the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on energy-related dimensions of climate change negotiations.
The Energy and Resource Institute (TERI)
TERI and UNIDO work together on a variety of energy related projects and TERI Director Rajendra Pachuri is one of UNIDO’s Goodwill ambassadors.
