The General Directorate of Industry (GDI)
The General Directorate of Industry (GDI) is the main project counterpart in Cambodia. GDI is a primary agency under the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Energy (MIME) responsible for formulating and implementing government policy and development strategies in the industrial sector. GDI main areas of responsibility also include regulatory function over manufacturing industry and provide secretariat to SME Sub-Committee, which is responsible for overall coordination of cross cutting policy and strategy development in the Small and Medium Enterprise sector.
GDI developed a Strategic Framework for the period 2010-2015 promoting eco-friendly and socially responsible industry growth. This project will specifically assist GDI in promoting eco-friendly industries. UNIDO and GDI will work in close collaboration to implement the project.
The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA)
KOICA, the Korea International Cooperation Agency, is funding the project under the East Asia Climate Partnership (EACP) that aims to share the green growth paradigm in cooperation with developing countries, for sustainable development while coping with climate change.
The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO)
UNIDO, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, is the specialized agency of the United Nations that promotes industrial development for poverty reduction, inclusive globalization and environmental sustainability. UNIDO aspires to reduce poverty through sustainable industrial development and wants every country to have the opportunity to grow a flourishing productive sector, to increase their participation in international trade and to safeguard their environment.
